Walks on the wild side, with camera

LIVINGSTON MANOR, NY — A new photography exhibit titled “Walks With My Camera” by Ted Pilonero will open at Morgan Outdoors, 46 Main Street on Saturday, May 24. The show features hikes and sights right here in the Catskills, in Maryland, and even Alaska. Wildlife images include white tail deer, great blue heron, brown bear and bald eagle. There are breathtaking scenic shots of the Catskills’ Alder Lake and Trout Pond, as well as Great Falls on the Potomac River. The public is invited to an opening reception on May 24th at 2:00 p.m.

Pilonero, a Jeffersonville resident, is an avid hiker, outdoorsman and photographer. “Photography forces one to see, to really see, the wonders and beauty that surrounds us,” said Pilonero, “and hiking keeps one physically active and healthy, especially when backpacking many pounds of camera equipment.”

Pilonero has organized and led hikes in the local area for years and in such places as Utah, Nevada and Alaska. This year, he will lead a two-week trek through the Grand Teton and Yellowstone national parks.

For more information call 845/439-5507. Show hours are 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Monday, Thursday and Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Friday and 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday.
