Historical society to open new wing

HONESDALE, PA — The Wayne County Historical Society will hold a grand opening for the John and Helen Villaume Wing on Saturday, May 17. Favorite permanent exhibits have been moved or refurbished and joined by new exhibits on Wayne County history, Wayne County quilts, the recent Tour of Honor and photo displays.

The museum will be open free of charge from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on May 17, with the ribbon cutting scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Refreshments will be served. The museum will also be open free of charge on Sunday, May 18, from 12:00 noon to 4:00 p.m. The museum and research library will resume regular hours, Wednesday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., on Wednesday, May 21, and the museum is also open some summer Sundays.
