Roebling restoration revealed

MINISINK FORD, NY — The Dry Stone Conservancy, contracted by the National Park Service, recently completed its restoration of the retaining wall at the Roebling Aqueduct Bridge in Minisink Ford. The massive structure is 22 feet high, making its height greater than that of the adjoining bridge, and contains 210 tons of stone in its face. The wall was damaged during regional flooding in 2006. The project also included the restoration of upper and lower culverts and a towpath along the Delaware River. The project utilized local stone and incorporated training for National Park Service employees.
