Extreme fly fishing

LIVINGSTON MANOR, NY — The tone for The Catskill Fly Fishing Center and Museum’s new exhibit, “Stream Xtremes,” will be set by this seven-foot painting of a diving trout that will greet all comers at the entrance of the museum. Paul Thiesing’s creative multi media art exhibit will open on Saturday, May 3 with a meet-the-artist reception at 2:00 p.m. The exhibit will consist of more than 30 pieces of Thiesing’s extreme interpretations of stream-related experiences captured in sculpture, paintings and carvings.

Thiesing, a New York City Deparment of Environmental Protection Watershed Educator in public affairs, is a world-recognized artist with a long list of accomplishments. For over 20 years he has been a competitor in the World Fish Carving Competitions held around the world. He has consistently placed in the top three, winning first place in several different categories.
