From Brahms to Broadway
at spring concert
MONTICELLO, NY The Sullivan County Community Chorus will present its annual spring concert on Sunday, May 4 at 3:00 p.m. at the First Church Presbyterian on Jones Street, under the direction of conductor David Trombley and chorus accompanist Lucille Horton. The chorus will perform Brahms folk songs, English folk songs by Vaughan Williams, famous opera choruses composed by Bizet, Handel, Lencavallo, Puccini and Verdi, as well as medleys from My Fair Lady and Man of La Mancha.
Conductor David Trombley pursued a career as an opera singer after receiving a Bachelor of Music degree from SUNY Fredonia and a Master of Music in Vocal Pedagogy from Ohio State University, and has performed throughout the United States in opera and in concert. He has performed with many opera companies as well as at the Metropolitan Opera House. The Sullivan County Community Chorus consists of members from Sullivan, Orange and Ulster counties and range in age from 15 to over 85 years of age.
Admission costs $10 for adults, $8 for seniors and young people enter free.
