The Grand Falloons bring the fables of Isaac Bashevis Singer to the NACL stage

HIGHLAND LAKE, NY — The Grand Falloons will return to NACL on Friday and Saturday, April 25 and 26 at 7:00 p.m. with a trilogy of plays dramatizing the Jewish folk tales of Isaac Bashevis Singer, “The Stories of Chelm—A Puppet Trilogy.”

The Grand Falloons is an ensemble made up of veteran clowns from New York City’s Big Apple Circus. The plays employ puppets of all sizes, physical comedy, vaudevillian antics and lively Klezmer music to dramatize Singer’s tales. Music is by Frank London of the Klezmatics, international musical composer Liz Swados and musician/songwriter/comedian Ilene Weiss.

NACL presented two of the plays of this trilogy two years ago, but this will be the first time it will host the entire trilogy. In between the three stories, the Grand Falloons will also present shadow plays as a palette-cleansing moment for the audience. For example, the performers will manipulate florescent objects in black light, using light-emitting objects on a dark stage to achieve this effect.

The cost is $15 for adults, $5 for children, and $7 per person for groups of 10 or more.
