Steely Dans Walter Becker and Donald Fagan have created a sophisticated, distinctive sound that blends jazz, traditional pop, blues and R&B featuring melodic hooks, complex harmonies and superb production. Though the band didnt perform live from 1975 until the early 90s, their records retained a cult following.
Steely Dans popularity continued to grow throughout the 70s. Even after the group disbanded in the early 80s, its records retained a cult following, as proven by the massive success of their unlikely return to the stage in the early 90s. In early 2000, the duo issued Two Against Nature, their first new studio album in two decades, which reached number six on the Billboard 200. In 2006 they released The Definitive Collection.
Other upcoming performances for which tickets will go on sale on April 28 are Donna Summer, on Friday, July 11; the Steve Miller Band and Joe Cocker, on Sunday July 13; and HippieFest, on Sunday, August 3..
