Extension to hold maple confections workshop

LIBERTY, NY — Steve Childs, New York maple specialist from Cornell University, will lead a hands-on workshop in making maple cream, maple granulated sugar, molded maple candy and crystal coating from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 19. This workshop, to be held at the extension center at 64 Ferndale-Loomis Road, is geared toward all levels from novice to very experienced confection makers.

Each participant will receive a New York State Maple Confections Notebook, tools for measuring invert sugar levels and a digital thermometer. The cost is $65 for Cornell Cooperative Extension members, $75 for non-members.
