Stunning “Sound of Music” sets new standard of excellence

By RICHARD A. ROSS

MONTICELLO, NY — Audiences simply loved “The Sound of Music,” staged at Monticello High School on April 10-12. The matinee performance on April 10 afforded senior citizens a chance to see the show without the inconvenience of having to travel at night. They were joined by classes of younger children, who were transfixed by the show’s fine acting, great singing and orchestration.

The packed houses attested to the allure of the show, the fine company of actors and musicians and the impressive sets and costumes that brought the Rodgers and Hammerstein smash hit to life on the Monticello stage. See next page for more photos.

Visit riverreporter.com for an album of pictures from the show. To purchase a CD sent a check for $22.50 payable to The River Reporter, P.O. Box 150, Narrowsburg, NY 12764.
