United Way to hold golf classic
HAWLEY, PA The United Way of Pike County will hold its second annual Golf Classic Tournament at the Country Club at Woodloch Springs Monday, May 12, 2008, starting at 11:30 a.m. The fundraising event will include golfing, lunch, a putting contest, a hole-in-1 contest, tee-off, silent auction, cocktail hour and awards dinner. In addition to participating as a golfer, there are several sponsorship levels available for interested individuals and organizations. You and your family or co-workers have an opportunity to play together on a team as a foursome. The fee for each golfer is $125. If you are not a golfer and would like to support the United Way, you can join us for dinner with a cost of $50.
Woodloch Springs is Pike Countys premier private resort. The tournament will be played on their 18-hole par-72 golf course, which has magnificent views. The par-5 signature 14th hole requires a dramatic 220-yard carry over Hells Gate Gorge, a 200-foot-deep chasm with rushing water at its base. This course has been open since 1992 and has been nationally recognized by both GOLF Magazine and Golf Digest as one of the finest courses in America.
