FUDR holds One Bug guided fishing and fundraising contest

HANCOCK, NY — The Friends of the Upper Delaware (FUDR) will sponsor the first annual Upper Delaware River One Bug fly-fishing contest. The event will take place on Friday, April 25, Saturday, April 26 and Sunday, April 27. It will start with a Friday night buffet and live auction and continue with guided fishing on Saturday and Sunday. Saturday and Sunday breakfast, lunch and dinner are also included.

The headquarters for the 2008 One Bug event is the newly constructed Hancock House Hotel. This year’s roster is limited to 15 teams at a first-come, first-served basis.

The proceeds from this event will be used to fight the ongoing battle for consistent cold-water releases, habitat and stream improvements and the enhancement and protection of the Upper Delaware River’s wild trout fishery.

The requested donation for a two-person team is $2,200 and $4,000 for a corporate sponsor two-person team. Corporate sponsors receive a one-half page ad space in the event program, three complimentary tickets to the Friday evening banquet and auction and a one year membership to FUDR.
