Three Port Jervis wrestlers named to TH-R All-Stars
Two more Port grapplers earn honorable mention and Jared Kahmer is named coach of the year

PORT JERVIS, NY Its been a remarkable year for Port Jervis wrestling, even though the school has a storied history in the sport. With the capture of this years Eastern States tournament, following last years 31st-place finish, the Red Raiders went on to crown three Section Nine champions and topped that off with two state runner-ups. Three of its top four wrestlers finished in the top four at states.
Port Jervis is second only to Valley Central in the number of Section Nine champions it has fielded over the years. This year that total burgeoned to 71. Here is the lowdown on the top three with information gleaned from the article by Sal Interdonato, which is posted on the Times-Herald Record Varsity 845 website.
Sean Floor (140 pounds) is a senior who posted a season record of 32-3. His highlights included being named Section Nine Division Ones Most Outstanding Wrestler and a trio of wins versus no defeats against Valley Centrals Mike DAmato, the Section Nine All-Time Wins leader. Floor was a runner up at the Eastern States Classic.
Steven Butler (189 pounds) is a junior, who was a Section Nine champion for the second straight year. He placed fourth in the state. Butler compiled a record of 41-4. He also was an Eastern States Classic runner up.
C.J. Floor (215 pounds) is a junior who had a season record of 39-5. Floor came back in the final seconds of his match to defeat Middletowns Jared Rosado for his first Section Nine title. He was third at the Eastern States Classic and went 1-2 in the state tournament.
Muller and Zitone accorded Honorable Mention status
Evan Muller (152 pounds) is a senior who posted a record of 27-2. Battling back from surgery following last years Section Nine tournament, Muller was the Section Nine runner up. At Christmas, he won the Bethlehem Catholic City Tournament by dint of pinning his opponents.
J.D. Zitone (215 pounds) is a junior who compiled a record of 39-10. He was the Section Nine runner up and placed fourth in his first state tournament.
Kahmer is named
Coach of the Year
This may have been Jared Kahmers first year as head coach but what a year it was! In short, under Kahmers lead Port Jervis crowned three Section Nine champions, had three wrestlers place in the top four at states and won its first-ever Eastern States Classic Tournament.
