Winter Bears garner awards and accolades
Great efforts by Tri-Valleys winter athletes is cause for celebration

GRAHAMSVILLE, NYThe days are lengthening and the rain has supplanted the snow as a sign that winter is soon to give way to spring. But for Tri-Valley athletes, coaches and parents, this past winter season created many enduring memories, many of which were celebrated in words and pictures at the winter athletic awards ceremony held on March 5.

NYSPHSAA Indoor Track Championships
Flying Fingers

ITHACA, NY - Measuring herself against the best in New York State, Monticello junior Jessica Fingers finished sixth in the 1500 with a time of 4:44.08. The winning time was turned in by Jaclyn Marshall, a senior at Kings Park. Marshall ran 4:38.97. Finishers one through four were seniors, which bodes well for Fingers, who is a year-round runner. The state record in the event is 4:22.1 set in 2001.

Spring Flag Football eight-on-eight League
LIBERTY, NYLibertys Parks and Recreation will be holding the second annual Spring Flag Football eight-on-eight league this April, which will run until mid June. The team entry fee is $300 per team with the referees fee being paid on the day of the game. Rosters are limited to 18 players on a team. Players must be 17 years of age before taking the field. Any players looking for a team should contact the league and can expect to be contacted by a team within a week.
