It’s a great day for the Irish

YULAN, NY — This year’s Yulan parade will step off at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday March 16. This will be the 37th year the event has been held.

The lineup will start at 12:00 noon. Participants will include music, bands, a bagpiper, color guards and floats, along with the perennial favorites, a variety of local fire companies. This year’s grand marshals, who will lead the parade down Yulan’s Main Street, are Robert O’Neill and Jo-Ellen Pearson, the son and daughter of the parade’s founder, Marion O’Neill. Shannon Hanson of Yulan, a sophomore at Eldred Junior/Senior High School, has been chosen as Miss Ireland, and will march with the grand marshals at the head of the parade.
