A ‘Taste of Africa’

HONESDALE, PA — The Honesdale Rotary and Himalayan Institute invite the public for a “Taste of Africa” from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. on Friday, March 14 at the Himalayan Institute at 630 Main Street.

The evening will feature African cuisine and entertainment. Meet people who have just returned from Kumbo and have seen first-hand the success of the local efforts to help Africa move forward. Food served will be made according to recipes gathered from the Institute ’s Community Center, located in Cameroon, West Africa. There will also be authentic African music provided. Participants will have an opportunity to learn more about a project of empowerment taking place in a community halfway around the world, and the efforts of local organizations to support the creation of a new library, a High School of Energy Farming and School of Carpentry & Construction.
