Three locals on Generals’ baseball roster

LOCH SHELDRAKE, NY — As the Sullivan County Generals gear up for their 2008 campaign, three former area high school standouts will be wearing the green and white this spring. Returning to the mound for his second season will be former Eldred right-handed ace Mike Prunka.

Joining the pitching staff this year will be former Tri-Valley Bear William Elberth, who may have the added comfort of throwing to his former Tri-Valley battery mate Fred Moore III. Both were recruited by baseball coach Mike Marra, who scouted their games last spring.

The Generals will travel to Globe Institute of Technology (Globe IT) on March 14 as early spring action gets underway.
