Exhibit of Jörg Madlener to explore the avenues of ambiguity

LIVINGSTON MANOR, NY — The Catskill Art Society (CAS) will present “Open Eyes—Closed Eyes, a new exhibition of work by artist Jörg Madlener, at the CAS Arts Center, 48 Main Street, starting on Saturday, March 8. There will be an artist’s talk at 4:00 p.m. followed by an opening reception from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Light refreshments will be served. The exhibition, appearing throughout the gallery, will explore a central theme of ambiguity.

Jörg Madlener studied architecture, art and philosophy in Darmstadt, Frankfurt and Antwerp. He represented his adopted home, Belgium, at the biennials of Venice and São Paolo. His work can be found in public and private collections in Europe and the United States. Madlener resides in Claryville, NY and Hoboken, NJ.

The show will travel to two museum shows in Germany (Kunsthalle Kempten and Kunsthalle Darmstadt) immediately following its presentation at the CAS Arts Center. Gallery hours for this exhibition are Wednesday through Saturday from 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m., Sunday 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m. or by appointment. The CAS Arts Center is wheel chair accessible.
