2008 Milford Music Festival cancelled
MILFORD, PA The Milford Music Festival Board of Directors has announced a hiatus for 2008. Although recent festivals have boasted record-breaking attendance, fine performances and increased sales for the local businesses, financial considerations in a difficult economic climate have led the festivals board of directors to conclude that the hiatus is in the best interest of the festival and the community.
Due to budget constraints, the current and impending economic climate, the board of directors have decided that it would best serve our community on a positive note if we focus our energies on the restructuring of the Milford Music Festival for the 2009 season, said Bill Cohen, president of the Milford Music Festival Board of Directors.
The Milford Music Festival is not the only organization affected by the economic pinch. Although Altec Lansing once again committed to the festival as the presenting sponsor with a very generous contribution, many local businesses have been faced with the hardships associated with the current conditions of the economy. Without placing any further hardship on the business community with fundraising, the Milford Music Festival will put the festivities on hold to be able to concentrate on ways to improve the festival and its viability from a financial perspective.
The board of directors encourages all those that would like to volunteer or contribute to the festival to call 570/296-3818.
The Milford Music Festival is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization. All contributions are tax-deductible.
