Casting call for ‘Fiddler on the Roof’

HURLEYVILLE, NY — The Sullivan County Dramatic Workshop will hold auditions for the musical “Fiddler on the Roof” on Saturday, March 15 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. and Thursday, March 20 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Sullivan County Museum at 265 Main Street.

Performance dates will be Thursday, July 10 and 17, Saturday, July 12 and 19 and Sunday, July 13 and 20 at the Rivoli Theatre in South Fallsburg.

Actor/singers are needed for all roles, leads as well as chorus parts. Singers should prepare two contrasting songs that best show off their voice, each preferably from a Rodgers & Hammerstein or similar show in which musicality and lyrics are paramount. Please bring legible music for the accompanist. There will be no CDs or recorded accompaniment permitted. Alternatively, be prepared to sing a number from the score.

Actors auditioning for speaking roles will also be asked to do a reading. You may bring a prepared monologue, but will also be asked to do a cold reading from the script.
