On the road again at CAS film series

LIVINGSTON MANOR, NY — The Catskill Art Association’s (CAS’s) Smiles of a Winter Night series continues with the theme of road trips on Saturday, March 8. The first movie in the double feature will be “The Road to Morocco” (1942), the third of the Bob Hope/Bing Crosby road movies. Craig Butler of AllMovies.com writes, “The third of the Road movies, Morocco is unarguably the highlight of this daffy, delightful series; the rapid-fire wisecracks, ridiculous situations, comic buffoonery of the stars, get-out-of-the-way-and-just-shoot direction of David Butler, and general air of zaniness come together in a way that makes Morocco something very special.”

The second feature will be “Monty Python and the Holy Grail” (1975), starring the Monty Python crew of Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones and Michael Palin. Michael Wilmington of the Chicago Tribune described it as “An incredibly silly film of great humor, brilliant design, and epic insanity.”

The show starts at 7:00 p.m. Admission costs $8 for members, $10 for non-members.
