PORT JERVIS, NYOne hundred million cell phones are approaching end-of-life management in the United States, according to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), which also estimates that fewer than 20 percent of cell phones are recycled annually. To address this growing environmental problem, the EPA recently launched Plug-In to eCycling, a campaign targeting the proper disposal and recycling of one of Americas favorite electronic gadgets and its accessories.

At the monthly meeting of the Damascus Township Board on February 18, several speakers spoke against and others spoke in favor of allowing large drilling companies to begin drilling for natural gas on private property.

Concord project may depend on money from state
Developer visits local government

MONTICELLO, NYDeveloper Louis Cappelli says he has a commitment for $350 million from a banking group to build his so-called entertainment city on the site of the famed but faded Concord Hotel. The problem is, to build the kind of enormous, dazzling, heart-stopping destination he envisions, he will need twice that much money. Hes hoping New York State officials will help with some of the rest of the funding.
