Roots & Rhythm gets in gear

HONESDALE, PA — The Greater Honesdale Partnership & Wayne County Arts Alliance have settled on Saturday, June 21 as the date for the third annual Honesdale Roots & Rhythm Music & Arts Festival. The event will take place all around downtown Honesdale and in Honesdale’s Central Park.

Last year’s festival brought in an estimated 5,000 fans of music and the arts, surpassing the first year by 2000 people.

The event will kick off at 8:00 p.m. on Friday, June 20 with a party at The Fireside Restaurant, located at 5 Oregon Turpike, just north of downtown Honesdale, co-presented by Bold Gold Media (the festival’s official radio partner) stations 95-Three DNH, Sunny 105 and Thunder 102 and Roots & Rhythm. Saturday’s main event will again start on Main Street in downtown Honesdale, with at least four locations featuring an eclectic mix of musical genres from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The downtown music is entirely sponsored and supported by the generosity of the downtown merchants and businesses of Honesdale.

In addition to the dynamic entertainment, the park will be filled with an array of artists and artisans exhibiting their creations for sale and a wide variety of food vendors and raffles.
