Pasta (and bingo) for pooches

PIKE COUNTY, PA — The Pike County Humane Society will hold a Pasta for Pooches fundraising dinner from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 23 at St. Patrick’s Church on East High Street. Dinner will include spaghetti and meatballs, salad, bread, beverages and home baked goods. Many local businesses have pitched in to help us help the animals including Prime Time Meats, Price Chopper, Shop Rite, Milford Diner, River Rock Inn, Apple Valley and Mt. Haven. There will also be a 50/50 cash raffle and a table full of prizes, including one full of delicious Picky Puppy Bakery items for your or a friend’s dog.

Requested donation is $7 for anyone age 12 and up; $5 for ages five through 11 and children under 5 free.

On Sunday, February 24, there will be a Basket Bingo Fundraiser at the Matamoras Fire Hall, with doors opening at 1:00 and calling for bingo beginning at 2:00 p.m..

Baskets valued at $100 each will include an array of dog treats from Picky Puppy Bakery, The Shop tattoo gift certificates and apparel, Tri-State Veterinary group gift certificates, Encore gift certificates, office supplies, baby baskets, candles, jewelry, and more. The grand prize basket is worth $250. A $5 donation is requested for admission. The Matamoras Firehouse will be providing all the refreshments, and will have a few bingo games of their own.
