Holiday Mountain to host YMCA Fireman’s Race Weekend

MONTICELLO, NY — The YMCA of Monticello will hold its First Annual Fireman’s Race Weekend at Holiday Mountain Ski and Fun Park starting on Friday, February 29.

The main event will be the YMCA Firefighters Ski Race Saturday, March 1. Following the races there will be a barbeque (tickets cost $15 per person), along with a torch light parade and a fireworks display at the ski area.

So far, more than 40 fire departments and businesses from the Tri-State area are expected to participate, and there is still plenty of time to register. Teams must consist of five members and the race course opens at 10:00 a.m. Pre-registration costs $40 per person ($45 after Thursday, February 28).

The registration fee includes admission to the wine and cheese party scheduled for Friday, February 29 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., race entry, Saturday night barbeque and award celebration. Race entry also includes an all-day lift ticket.

Free activities will be provided for children throughout the day. Each day’s lift tickets will be discounted to $25 ($10 for rentals). Tickets for the steak dinner and award celebration will be available the day of the event for a price of $15 per person.

All proceeds benefit the YMCA of Monticello.
