V is for Valentine—and vets

SULLIVAN COUNTY, NY — The Sullivan County Veterans Service Agency will once again participate in the “National Salute to Hospitalized Veterans” through the annual “Valentines for Vets” program.

Grade school children from around Sullivan County will participate in designing Valentine’s Day cards for hospitalized veterans, and the Veteran’s Service Agency will send the cards to veterans at the VA Hudson Healthcare System in Castle Point, NY and the VA Stratton Medical Center in Albany, NY, as well as local nursing home facilities.

Prior to being mailed out, the cards will be on display in the Sullivan County Government Center lobby on Thursday, February 7, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The public is invited to attend.
