Lincoln to be honored by historical society

MILFORD, PA — The Pike County Historical Society will honor our 16th President’s birthday with a soup and sandwich luncheon to be held in the Foundation Room of its museum on Tuesday, February 12. Starting at 12:00 noon, guests are invited to enjoy some chicken and stars soup, followed by a selection of sandwiches, birthday cake and coffee.

“We have been hosting this little get-together for the past several years and look forward to having a lovely luncheon with our friends in history,” states Lori Strelecki, museum director. “This year we will be reading a few interesting witticisms and excerpts from some of Lincoln’s most moving and inspirational speeches. But mostly, we’ll just be celebrating Lincoln’s birthday and of course, long time museum supporter Carol Bowman, a local favorite who just happens to be born on the same day, not year, at the home of the Lincoln Flag.”

The museum will be open for touring during the luncheon. A donation of $12 is requested for the luncheon. Reservations are requested.
