Delaware Valley Opera to hold auditions

NARROWSBURG, NY — The Delaware Valley Opera will hold auditions for singers interested in principal and secondary roles and chorus on Saturday, February 9 from 1:30 to 4:00 p.m. at the Delaware Arts Center, 37 Main Street, 2nd floor. Auditions will also be held during this time for the new DVO Opera Training Program for young singers, a six-week intensive period of classes, rehearsals and performances to be held at the Sullivan County Community College from Monday, July 7 through Sunday, August 17.

All singers should bring two songs or arias to sing. An accompanist will be provided. Additional audition times may be available by appointment.

The Delaware Valley Opera has been bringing quality opera and Broadway productions to the Delaware Valley region for over 20 years. The upcoming season will offer Mozart’s “Don Giovanni,” one of the most perfect of musical dramas, and Donizetti’s comic masterpiece, “Don Pasquale,” both sung in English. Also in the season are “The Wizard of Verse,” Broadway favorites to the lyrics of Yip Harburg, and “Divas on the Delaware”, familiar opera highlights sung by members (male and female) of the new Opera Training Program. Performances will take place on the final weekend of July and the first three weekends of August at the Tusten Theatre in Narrowsburg, Seelig Theatre at the Sullivan County Community College in Loch Sheldrake and Ritz Theater in Hawley, PA.
