Liberty library holds February celebrations
LIBERTY, NY In February, the Liberty Public Library will hold celebrations of Valentines Day and Black History Month.
The Valentines Day Fun event will be held on Saturday, February 9 at 1:00 p.m. There will be an hour of stories, poems, songs and crafts. The program is free and open to children in pre-K and elementary school.
At the black history event, scheduled for Saturday, February 23 at 1:00 p.m., children will learn about some of the many contributions made by African Americans, including inventors, explorers, athletes, musicians, writers, pilots, scientists and doctors. They will also enjoy poems, music and crafts based on the theme. The program is free and open to children in first through fourth grades; however, siblings are welcome to attend as well. Preregistration is requested.
