Free winter fun at Frost Valley

CLARYVILLE, NY — An afternoon sampler of free winter activities will be offered to the public at Frost Valley YMCA in Claryville on Sunday, February 3 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. This year’s Winter Wonderland community event will feature a range of winter fun from cross-country skiing and snowshoe hikes on Frost Valley’s 25 kilometers of groomed trails to snow tubing, indoor climbing and winter games.

Cross-country ski lessons will be offered every half hour from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Snowshoe hikes will depart at 1:00 and 2:30 p.m. Winter games run from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m., while hot chocolate and cookies will be served in the dining hall throughout the afternoon.

There is no fee for the day’s events, but visitors are required to register at Frost Valley’s administration office, just past Frost Valley’s main entrance. Established in 1901 as one of the nation’s first summer camps, Frost Valley YMCA in Claryville provides four seasons of outdoor, experiential and environmental learning opportunities for families, groups and schools.
