Treasures in the trees

The winter landscape provides special opportunities to see some interesting adornments in trees stripped of their foliage. Since many of us have recently removed all manner of ornaments from our Christmas trees, it is a good time to take a walk and to see what nature has adorned hers with. Once you begin looking, you will be surprised at the abundance of natural embellishments to be observed.

Children will find such scouting adventures particularly enjoyable. Challenge them to find the most unusual “outdoor ornament.”
