Concert series to benefit the Columns Museum
MILFORD, PA Every Wednesday in the month of February, Bar Louis at Hotel Fauchere will host local artists Bobby Kyle, Ronny Whyte, Scott Weis and Richard Dipaolo at Pike County Historical Societys (PCHSs) Winter Wednesdays Concert Series. The concerts will run from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., and will benefit the Pike County Historical Society.
The fact of the matter is the Societys building has undergone a lot of much needed repair and maintenance work over the last year. This, combined with the rising costs of electricity and other utilities, have put a serious strain on our finances, said Lori Strelecki, PCHSs museum director. The artists performing during the series have graciously donated their time to support the museum.
The musicians participating have shown great interest in the preservation of the home, which serves as the official Historical Society of the county.
Whyte is considered a premiere interpreter of classic American popular song and is a jazz pianist and award-winning songwriter. He has been featured on Marian McPartlands Piano Jazz on National Public Radio and is an ASCAP award-winning songwriter.
Weis has worked with, opened for, or played with living legends over the course of 25 years, including Stevie Washington, George Clinton, Jr. Wells, John Lee Hooker, BB King, Bon Jovi, Richie Havens and Blues Traveler. He currently fronts his own band, which blends raw rocking blues, Memphis soul and adult alternative.
Kyle is a guitarist known for his heart and soul, who creates contemporary music that is characteristically all his own.
Dipaolo mixes finger style guitar with mandolin and arch-top slide, leaving room for some tube-driven harmonica. His band, the Booglerizers, keeps time with a brushed snare, washboard, clay udu or spoons, making for an eclectic mix of ragtime, jug band and R&B with a funky, barrel-house feel.
