ONE FOR THE ROAD: An image to remember the Delaware River Region by

NARROWSBURG, NY — Dave Forney, left, retiring superintendent of the National Park Service Upper Delaware Scenic and Recreational River, spent his final hours in uniform attending the Upper Delaware Council’s (UDC) Annual Meeting in Narrowsburg, NY on January 3. Fittingly seated under a nearby exit sign, Forney received abundant accolades for his work as superintendent. He presented UDC personnel with gifts of thanks for their assistance throughout his term, then accepted a plaque presented by UDC Executive Director William Douglass, right, who also gave Forney a signed photograph of a cherished Delaware River vista taken by UDC senior resource specialist David Soete. Forney and Douglass expressed their mutual appreciation for the successful working relationship enjoyed by the two agencies.

“We met a lot of challenges together,” said Forney. “The future will bring even more. Stand strong and stand tall.”
