CAS hosts ‘Hidden Terrain’

The Catskills explored in the works of Biron and Mullaney

LIVINGSTON MANOR, NY — The Catskill Art Society (CAS) will present “Hidden Terrain,” a new exhibition with artist Jane Biron and photographer Frank Mullaney, at the CAS Arts Center, 48 Main Street, from Saturday, January 19 to Saturday, March 1. There will be an artists’ talk on January 19 at 1:00 p.m., followed by an opening reception from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.

Biron is an artist who works in many different mediums. She resides in both New York City and Damascus, PA. Mullaney is a designer, photographer and writer who divides his time between Livingston Manor and

Manhattan.

The exhibition explores the desolation and solitude of local landscapes through the mediums of colored pencil drawing and photography. These seemingly disparate works share a common sensibility and a complementary palette of organic earth tones, as well as the primary source of inspiration for both artists: a fascination with the Catskills.

CAS is a non-profit cultivating public interest, participation and enjoyment of the arts. CAS explores contemporary art practices and facilitates creative and professional development for established and emerging artists.

Gallery hours are Thursday through Saturday from 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m., Sunday from 12:00 noon to 3:00 p.m. or by appointment.
