CAS hosts ‘Hidden Terrain’

The Catskills explored in the works of Biron and Mullaney

LIVINGSTON MANOR, NY—The Catskill Art Society (CAS) will present “Hidden Terrain,” a new exhibition with artist Jane Biron and photographer Frank Mullaney, at the CAS Arts Center, 48 Main Street, from Saturday, January 19 to Saturday, March 1. There will be an artists’ talk on January 19 at 1:00 p.m., followed by an opening reception from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.

Biron is an artist who works in many different mediums. She resides in both New York City and Damascus, PA. Mullaney is a designer, photographer and writer who divides his time between Livingston Manor and

Manhattan.

Picturing wildlife

Students to portray their favorite species for EagleFest contest

NARROWSBURG, NY—The seventh annual EagleFest, scheduled for Saturday, January 19, will feature wildlife artwork created by students in the Upper Delaware River Valley for the fourth year. The contest is open to Sullivan West Central School District students grades K through two. According to John DiGiorgio, one of the festival organizers, “We are hoping to encourage our youth to become aware, involved and proud of the diverse wildlife and environment we have in our area.”

Salon Sessions make their 2008 debut

Gender-bending lecture and trapeze artists gets 2008 Salon Sessions off to a high-flying start

HIGHLAND LAKE, NY—Featured at this month’s Salon Session on Friday, January 25 will be Dr. Mimi McGurl with “A Delightful Lecture on Cross-Dressing and Gender Bending” throughout theatre history. The evening, which starts at 7:30 p.m., will also feature special guests Lollo Brigitta, a gender-bender trapeze act from Brooklyn.
