THEODORE B. TED BABCOCK
Theodore B. Ted Babcock, 75, formerly of Wallkill, NY, died on Saturday, December 1, 2007 at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA.
Born September 22, 1932 in Monticello, NY, he was the son of the late Theodore and Bessie (Cole) Babcock.
He is survived by his wife, Carol (Kline) Babcock; his children, Connie Kenworthy and husband Peter of Wallkill, Mike Babcock and wife Linda of New Windsor, NY, Randy Babcock and wife Cindy of Cochecton, NY, Barton Babcock of Gardner, NY and Lauren Babcock of Reedsville, PA.; his step-children, Kimberly Snook of Lewiston, PA, Robert Snook of Milroy, PA., Dennis Snook of Mattawana, PA, and Paula Rogers of Kisler, PA; four grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Wayne Babcock; one brother; and three sisters.
Services were held on Wednesday, December 5 at the Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, Lewiston, PA. Interment was in Church Hill Cemetery in Reedsville, PA.

KENNETH S. DUNN
Kenneth S. Dunn, 79, of Honesdale, PA died Wednesday, December 5, 2007 in Wayne Woodlands Manor, Waymart, PA. He is survived by his wife, the former Esther Jones. They were married May 2, 1952.
Kenneth was born in Honesdale, PA, the son of the late Frederick and Bessie Gregory Dunn.
Kenneth served in The United States Navy aboard the USS Manchester during the Korean War. He worked at Consolidated Molded Products Corp. in Moosic and was also employed by the Lackawanna County Dairy Herd Improvement Association. Later, the family moved to the Honesdale area, where he was a caretaker at Camp Moshava in Indian Orchard, PA until retirement. Kenneth was a member of the Christadelphian Chapel in Honesdale.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Deborah Decker and husband Alan of Pittston Township, PA and Tamara Hecker and husband Jack of Bonita Springs, FL; grandchildren Tara Colarussa and husband Joseph, Jennifer Reklaitis and husband Ryan, Laura Decker, Joshua Derrick and wife Kelly and Justin Derrick; step-granddaughters Lauren Hecker and Kristen Hecker; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Alberta Swendsen of Milanville, PA and Lois Keesler of Abrahmsville, PA; and a brother, Harold Dunn of Honesdale.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Arnold; three sisters, Violet, Edna and Evelyn; and an adopted daughter, Bitsy Delzer.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, December 12, 2007 in the Arthur A. Bryant Funeral Home, Honesdale, with the Brother David Stiles and Brother James Harper of the Christadelphia Ecclesia officiating.
Burial was made in the Glen Dyberry Cemetery, Honesdale, PA.

DENISE M. FISCHER
Denise M. Fischer of Deltona, FL, formerly a lifelong resident of Cochecton, NY, died Saturday, December 8, 2007 in Deltona. She was 63 years of age.
The daughter of the late Donald and Vivian Taylor DuBois, she was born April 26, 1944 in Bethel, NY. She was the widow of Joseph Fischer Sr.
She is survived by a daughter, Deborah Fischer; a son, Joseph Fischer Jr.; two sisters, Patricia DuBois and Deborah DuBois; a brother, Michael DuBois; and one grandchild, Kira Fischer.
Friends may call from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 13 at the Stewart-Murphy Funeral Home, Jeffersonville, NY.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 14 at the funeral home.
Burial will be made in the Fosterdale Cemetery, Fosterdale, NY.

WILLIAM ASA WILLIE GOULD
William Asa Willie Gould, of Callicoon, NY, a farmer, died Saturday, December 8, 2007 at home. He was 49.
He was born April 19, 1958 in Sussex, NJ, the son of the late Fred and the late Elizabeth Mae Boyd Gould.
Known also as Poppy to his grandson, he was an outdoorsman and hunter.
He is survived by his wife, Penny Hardick Gould at home; a daughter, Linda Gould at home; three sons, William A. Gould Jr. and John Gould, both at home, and Anthony Repsher of Warren County, NJ; seven brothers, John Gould of Port Jervis, NY, Don Gould of Key West, FL, Fred Gould and Charles Gould, both of Sussex, NJ and Paul Gould and Edward Gould, both of Branchville, NJ; three sisters, Violet Rodriquez of El Cajon, CA, Viola Sommarelli of Huguenot and Joyce Gould of Beemerville; a grandson, Calab Harms; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a sister, Arlene Gould.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, December 12, 2007 at the Gray-Parker Funeral Home, Port Jervis. Cremation took place at H.G. Smith Crematory, Stroudsburg, PA.
KATHERINE S. HAAS
Katherine S. Haas, a retired manager and bookkeeper of the Colonial Boarding House and caregiver of her daughter Kathy for many years, died December 2, 2007 at Catskill Regional Medical Center, Harris. She was 79.
A lifelong resident of Yulan, NY, she was the daughter of the late Jacob Hensel and Lisette Galm Hensel, born April 5, 1928 in Yulan.
Katie was a graduate and valedictorian of the Class of 1946, Eldred Central School. A family statement reads, Kate was an incredible mother, grandmother and friend who welcomed all who came into her home with open, loving arms. Her smile and infectious laugh will be remember by many whose lives she touched.
Survivors include her husband, Richard F. Haas; three sons, Terry Haas and wife Kathy of Eldred, Richard Haas and wife Cheryl of Yulan and Bruce Haas and wife Rose of Vero Beach, FL; sister Helen Oset and husband Chet of Yulan; six grandchildren, Erika Haas, Brian Haas and wife Amanda, Jason Haas and wife Kristen, Justin Haas, Jamie Haas and wife Melissa, Mallory Haas; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her daughter, Kathy.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at a later date at St. Anthonys RC Church, Yulan. The Rev. Anthony Moore will officiate. Interment will be private.

THOMAS KAINEY
Thomas Kainey, 86, of Barryville, NY, formerly a longtime resident of Bloomfield, NJ and retired from Litton Industries in Clifton, NJ, died Monday, December 3, 2007 in Port Jervis, NY.
He was born April 15, 1921 in Hollsapple, PA, the son of the late Bernard T. and Cecelia May Kainey.
He served his country during World War II in the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Kainey, at home; a niece and a nephew.
Cremation was in Stroudsburg, PA.

WARREN L. PONDS SR
Warren L. Ponds Sr., a former longtime area resident of Barryville, NY and a retired telephone installer for AT&T, passed away at his home in Liberty, TN on Monday, November 26, 2007. He was 74.
The son of the late Ruth Zuck and Louis Ponds, he was born in Brooklyn, NY on June 8, 1933.
Warren proudly served in the U.S. Air Force from 1952 until 1957. An avid hunter, he belonged to the Highland Lake Rod and Gun Club for 30 years.
Survivors include his wife, Marie; two sons, Steve and Warren and wife, Ann; grandchildren Lisa Buczek, Amiee Ponds, Julie Acri, Heather Barker and Warren, Arianne, Kimberly and Louis Ponds; great-grandchildren Stanley and Kyle Buczek, Robert Campbell, Austin and Tanner Barker; and many cousins, brothers and sisters-in-law.
He was predeceased by a son, Robert; and a stepsister, Arlene Rossier.
Cremation took place at Love Cantrell Funeral Home, Smithville, TN.

AMANDA MARIE TOOLEY
Amanda Marie Tooley of Mill Rift, PA and a lifetime area resident, died Saturday, December 8, 2007 at home. She was 19.
She was born September 19, 1988 in Port Jervis, NY, the daughter of Rusty and Rhonda Cabral Tooley.
Amanda was a 2006 graduate of Delaware Valley High School, where she was also a member of the swim team. She was a member of St. Josephs R.C. Church, Matamoras, PA. She was studying nursing at the University of Pittsburgh at Titusville, Titusville, PA. Earlier in life, Amanda was a Port Jervis Popwarner cheerleader and played for the Port Jervis Little League Girls Softball.
Surviving are her parents, at home; brothers Tyler and Nicholas, at home; sister Amber, at home; paternal grandparents James and Gloria Tooley of Port Jervis, NY; her uncle and godfather, Danny Cabral of Port Jervis; many loving aunts, uncles and cousins; and her godmother, Rosemary Romer of Matamoras.
She was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Dennis and Victoria Cabral.
Friends may call at the Gray-Parker Funeral Home, Port Jervis on Thursday, December 13, 2007 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 13, 2007, with a 12:00 noon prayer at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 p.m. in St. Josephs R.C. Church, Matamoras, PA with Rev. August A. Ricciardi officiating.
Burial will be at St. Marys Cemetery, Port Jervis, NY.
