Community chorus
holds fall concert
MONTICELLO, NY The Sullivan County Community Chorus will present its annual Fall Concert on Sunday, December 9 at 3:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church on Jones Street, Monticello under the direction of conductor David Trombley and chorus accompanist Lucille Horton. The chorus will perform Brahms folk songs, English folk songs by Vaughan Williams, selections from Handels Judas Maccabaeus, a swing jazz piece Air, Hineih Mah Tov by Erik Contzius and Good Ale, plus the traditional audience sing-along of seasonal favorites to round out the holiday concert.
Trombley pursued a career as an opera singer after receiving a Bachelor of Music degree from SUNY Fredonia and a Master of Music in Vocal Pedagogy from Ohio State University, and has performed throughout the United States in opera and in concert. He has performed with many opera companies as well as at the Metropolitan Opera House. He is a member of the NYS Music Educators Association, National Guild of Piano Teachers, Music Teachers National Association and the American Choral Directors Association. He is the director of choral music in the Ellenville School District.
The Sullivan County Community Chorus consists of members from Sullivan, Orange and Ulster Counties and range in age from 15 to over 85 years of age.
Admission will cost $10 for adults, $8 for seniors and free for children.
