REGION — Cornell Lab of Ornithology and Bird Studies, Canada, is operating a winter-long survey of bird populations in North America called Project Feeder Watch. The program starts in November and runs through early April.

Participants’ observations of birds all over the continent are used to help ornithologists track trends in winter bird populations with regard to abundance, distribution and migrations.

Anyone with an interest is invited to participate. There is a $15 annual fee that covers materials, staff support, web design, data analysis and a year-end report.
