Sullivan County officials take a green ride
Road to sustainability is the destination

SULLIVAN COUNTY, NYWith the election behind them, about a dozen county and town officials took to the road on November 14 to get an introductory lesson in renewable energy technology at facilities in Sullivan County.
Alternative energy advocate Dick Riseling, who is also a member of Sullivan Alliance for Sustainable Development, organized the outing, and his farm was the first stop. He briefly explained the different systems on his property, which include an array of photovoltaic panels on his barn, a windmill in his pasture and a newly installed boiler in his basement that will burn recycled vegetable oil this winter.

Absentee vote flips Narrowsburg election
Adult home is again at the center of controversy

NARROWSBURG, NYLawyers representing the Tusten Democratic Committee have filed papers calling for an investigation into the actions of Republican candidates and other activities at the Narrowsburg Adult Home in advance of the election on November 6. Thats according to Democratic committee chairman Norman Meyer, who said the papers were filed with the New York Attorney Generals office, the enforcement division of the New York State Board of Elections and with a federal agency.

Wayne libraries ask for additional funds from county
Amount given by the county is below state standard

HONESDALE, PA - The population of Wayne County has been growing steadily for the last few years, but the amount of county funding for the Wayne County libraries has remained consistently the same and is one of lowest funding levels in the state.
Appearing before the county commissioners on November 13, Cindy Smith, a member of both the board of the Wayne Library Authority and the Wayne County Library, asked the commissioners for two things.
