Tusten Theatre to resound with home-grown music

NARROWSBURG, NY — The Delaware Valley Chamber Orchestra will perform “Music of Our Time,” compositions by six local musicians, at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 17 at the Tusten Theatre at 210 Bridge Street.

Under the baton of conductor Jim Blanton, the concert will include David Tsimpidis’ Concerto Grosso, a new take on the Baroque; Ken Somerville’s Caprice, a bright and playful caper; Gladys Moskowitz’s rhythmic romp A Playful Trio; Roy Singer’s Gigue for Gloria, Aire for Elaine; Joe Hannan’s Five Songs from Dog’s Life, songs on poems about dogs; and Carolyn Steinberg’s Wild Wysteria, a colorful garden of intertwining vines.

Tickets cost $12 ($10 seniors). Delaware Valley Arts Alliance members get $1 off advance sales.

The 80-year-old art deco-style Tusten Theatre features a year-round schedule of cultural programming including jazz, opera, performance art, folk music and theatre.
