A treat for the eye and the ear at Salon Session

HIGHLAND LAKE, NY — NACL’s Salon Session for the month of November will present musician Judith Pearce in an evening of music, poetry and drawings by famous German artists of the modern age. The show starts at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, November 16 in the NACL lobby salon.

Pearce, who is the artistic director of Weekend of Chamber Music, will perform “Acht Stücke,” German composer Paul Hindemith’s set of eight miniatures for solo flute. Ekkehart Trenkner will perform Christian Morgenstern’s (1870-1914) Dadaist fantasy poetry. The evening will be rounded out with a presentation of Paul Hindemith’s original witty drawing games for added visual stimulation.

In the spirit of experimentation at NACL, November 16 will be the first performance that weaves together the elements of Hindemith’s music, his visual art and the poetry of Morgenstern. Admission costs $5.

NACL’s monthly Salon Sessions provide a casual, intimate setting to hang out over drinks and hot, homemade soup while appreciating the talents of the artists and thinkers of our community. Next on the schedule are Nick Forte and Stacy Wakefield presenting indie music from the Catskills and beyond, on Thursday, December 20.
