Veterans Day Services
The following list of services will be held on Veterans Day, Sunday, November 11. All events are open to the public.
LONG EDDY The Allen Milk Memorial VFW Post #7276 of will host a ceremony at 11:00 am at the Long Eddy Fire Department. H. Russell Kenyon VFW Post #5808 and Emmett Turner American Legion Post #276 will be in attendance. Refreshments will be served following the ceremony.
LIBERTY The Clarence Hoyt VFW Post #9217 will host a ceremony at 10:30 a.m. at the Clarence Hoyt VFW building. Corp. Russell Sprague American Legion Post #109 will be in attendance. Coffee and cake will be served following the ceremony.
MAMAKATING The Mamakating American Legion Post #1266 of Wurtsboro will host a ceremony at 10:30 a.m. at the Veterans Memorial Park. Shawanga Mountain VFW Post #4947 will be in attendance. Coffee and Cake will be served at Lady Assumption Church for Prayer.
MONTICELLO The Ruddick-Trowbridge American Legion Post #73, Jesse Brams Post #206 Jewish War Veterans and Bailey-Richman VFW Post #9588 of Monticello will host a ceremony at 10:30 a.m. at the Government Center. Refreshments will be served at the Elks Lodge in Monticello following the ceremony.
WOODBOURNE Woodbourne Fire Company will sponsor a parade to honor Veterans Day. Lineup will start at the Woodbourne Fire House at 12:00 p.m, with step off at 1:00 pm. Services and refreshments will follow at the firehouse.
GRAHAMSVILLE The Neversink VFW Post #8648 will host a ceremony at 10:30 am at the Grahamsville Cemetery. Refreshments will be served at the Grahamsville Town Hall following the service.
KAUNEONGA LAKE The Town of Bethel Veterans Day parade and flagpole dedication will be held from 9:30 to11:00 a.m. The parade will step off at 9:30 a.m. from Duggan Elementary, Route 55 East and go to Bethel Veterans Park, followed by a flagpole dedication ceremony and raising of the flag at approximately 10:00 a.m. There will be a flag presentation from the office of Congressman Hinchey, music by the Duggan School Choir, and a Boy Scout and Cub Scout Troop #86 presentation. The White Lake Sgt. Andrew Brucher Post #5499 of Bethel will host a ceremony at 11:00 a.m. at the Kauneonga Lake Square. S.C. Marine Corps League Catskill Detachment will be in attendance. There will be refreshments afterwards at the Senior Center.
