Von Steuben Day celebration

YULAN, NY — As has become traditional, the king and queen of the 17th annual Von Steuben Parade & Germanfest were crowned the weekend before the event, and Miss Germany was named as well. Queen Trudy Roeder, left, granddaughter of King Hinrich Luetje, and Miss Germany Carley Stickle are ready to rule the day of celebration, which will be held Saturday, September 22. The parade will step off at 12:00 noon from Airport Road and Washington Lake Road. Germanfest in Firemen’s Field will follow the parade.

Entertainment during the day will be provided by Bavarian Musik Verein and Schuplatter Folk Dancers. As always there will be a variety of German food, beers and wines, vendors selling local arts and crafts and games and activities for children.
