Health fair draws crowd

CALLICOON, NY — Despite the windy and rainy weather, up to 200 residents turned out to the Catskill Health and Craft Fair on September 15. The event was held at the Callicoon Division of Catskill Regional Medical Center on Route 97.

Participants were treated to free blood pressure tests, cholesterol readings and other medical procedures, such as hearing tests.

There was also entertainment, including Mike Vreeland, who specializes in making music for children.

The Grover Hermann Hospital Auxiliary sponsored the event, and this was the first year it took place without the involvement of auxiliary President Mary Cade, who passed away on August 6.

Auxiliary member Dottie Schlegel said all the members missed her.
