Wild Mushroom and Herb Walk at Lake Scranton

DAMASCUS, PA — Local naturalist Nathaniel Whitmore will lead a nature walk at Lake Scranton on Saturday, September 15 at 2:00 p.m. The walk will start at the parking area off Route 307.

Whitmore is an herbalist from Damascus, with a clinical practice based in Honesdale. He is well known for the nature walks he leads in the area, on which he teaches about the wild mushrooms and plants. He focuses on species that are edible and medicinal and teaches how to identify, harvest and prepare foods and medicines from the wild. A hat will be passed for donations.
