Keeping the traditions alive

NARROWSBURG, NY — Rosanne and Luis Salinas, Aztec Indians from Mexico, perform the Snake of the Fire Dance at PowWow Festival 2007 held on September 8 and 9. The dance, which is performed every 52 years, honors the grandfathers of knowledge and experience. The two-day festival, held at Landers Campground, featured Native American dance, music, and goods.
