Tri-Valley shuts out LMR

GRAHAMSVILLE, NY — Tri-Valley improved to 2-0 with an effortless win over the Livingston Manor/Roscoe (LMR) Devilcats (0-2) on September 8. The Bears scored 36 points in the first quarter beginning with a 44-yard sweep run by Brendan Musa. Bo Murphy converted on the PAT. He would go five-for-five on the day.

Tri-Valley’s Nick Cassidy recovered a LMR fumble and ran for 19 yards for the Bears’ second score. Shortly thereafter, Musa picked up another LMR fumble and returned it 17 yards for the touchdown as Tri-Valley took a 21-0 lead.

A 13-yard run by Dan Byrne and a two-point conversion pass from Sean Drown to Nick Cassidy made it 29-0.

Musa made it 36-0 on a nine-yard sweep. The game’s final tally came in the second quarter as Byrne broke outside for a 26-yard touchdown. He had three carries on the day for 45 yards and two touchdowns.

Musa rushed for 95 yards on nine carries. He scored a trio of touchdowns, one of which was on defense. Jesse Boncek had 10 carries for 56 yards. Mike Towt carried the ball seven times for 46 yards.

Josh Gorr led LMR with 51 yards on 11 carries.

Tri-Valley will host Eldred (1-1) in Grahamsville on September 15, while LMR travels to Pine Plains.
