A piece of history comes alive

WAYMART, PA — The last remaining D&H Gravity Railroad Depot Museum was dedicated in a ceremony held on Saturday, August 25. S. Robert Powell, President of the Carbondale Historical Society, appeared as President Abraham Lincoln, and give a short address on the state of the Union in 1857. There were historical demonstrations and talks, and following the ceremony, “Top Hats and Lace,” vintage dancers, performed dances from the Civil War era. The completely rehabilitated 1857 depot will contain a museum of D&H and local history plus be available for community activities.
