Mountain Music Festival debuts at Bethel Woods

BETHEL, NY — The first-ever Mountain Music Festival will be held on Sunday, September 9 in conjunction with the Fall Harvest Festival. The event, sponsored by The Highlands at Bethel: Gated Country Estates and M & M Auto Group, Inc., will celebrate the traditional acoustic sounds from Sullivan County and the Hudson Valley.

Tin Roof will perform at at 11:00 a.m., followed by Random Folk at 12:00 noon and No Brakes at 1:00 p.m. There will also be a finale performance by the “High Strung Community Orchestra” of the Music Institute of Sullivan and Ulster counties at 3:00 p.m. Author Rilla Askew will be on hand to sign copies of her books “Harpsong” and “The Mercy Seat.”

There will also be a special display of fine and fancy used guitars, a fiddle exhibition and repair shop, an information booth provided by the Hudson Valley Bluegrass Association and a very special live bluegrass jam in the Exhibition Tent, beginning at 2:30 p.m. Bring your instrument and check out the wealth of talented musicians all living right in our region!

The Harvest Festival is located at the corner of Hurd and West Shore Roads in Bethel, NY. It takes place on seven consecutive Sundays through Columbus Day Weekend. Hours are from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Admission and parking are free; certain activities have a charge. No pets are permitted.
