Car show to benefit Beisel memorial scholarship fund

HAWLEY, PA — The LCpl Jacob Beisel Memorial Cruise, a benefit for the Beisel memorial scholarship fund, will be held from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Keystone Avenue on Friday, September 7. There will be a classic and antique car show and entertainment. The new Lackawaxen fire truck, which was dedicated to Beisel and has a commemoration plaque on the back, will also be there.

Beisel died while serving his country in Iraq. “Jacob was a pretty focused kid. He was a straight A student all through school. Very, very intelligent. He knew from a really young age that he wanted to be a soldier to fight for the ideals of the country. Really nice kid, everyone loved him,” said friend Joe Barnes.

Donations to the fund are being accepted at Beisel Memorial Fund, c/o Customer for Life, 201 Lackawanna Avenue, Scranton, PA 18503.
