Five Sullivan County teams gear up for the 2007 season

PORT JERVIS, NY - A week before the other fall sports athletes reported for their first day of practice, football players across Section Nine arrived at camp and began the grueling work of preparing for the upcoming season with renewed vigor and hope.
For Sullivan County teams that include Class B Liberty, Class C Tri-Valley and Sullivan West and Class D Eldred and Livingston Manor/Roscoe (LMR), a new year means a clean slate and a chance to improve on last years campaign.

Softball sisters celebration season successes

WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, NY - On the field, they are fierce competitors who play softball for fun and a passion to win. Off the field, theyre a happy-go-lucky family that loves to party. And each August, once the playoffs of the Sullivan County Womens Softball League (SCWSL) are finished, thats exactly what they do.
On August 25, they gathered at the Firemans Field with enough food and drink to sustain a small nation. The event: the annual SCWSL picnic and awards presentation.
